Bodem Kwaliteit Kaart (soil quality map), Gemeente Amsterdam
Gemeente Amsterdam’s bodemkwaliteitskaart (BKK) is an online resource that maps the soil quality of Amsterdam. It gives information about the soil in different meteropolitan Amsterdam zones. Each zone is graded according to its soil quality. These maps are used as a reference when lots become vacant and are redeveloped to determine whether the soil can be reused or would need to be purified. They are intended for everyone who is using the groud (municipalities, property developers, advice agencies).
Although the map is not valid for determining the soil pollutions in locations heavily effected in the past by chemical or industrial waste (for instance, old factory sites or petrol stations).
Every Amsterdam borough (stadsdeel) has its own soil quality map that corresponds to a soil management plan.
